I have finally got my horse! Well actually he is not mine per se, but he is mine to train and look after for however long I want to. I am dedicated to training this horse in Endurance Riding and I will be writing regularly about my experiences and training methods in this blog. I have done flat racing when I was younger and was quite successful at that never coming less than second place. I fell out of love with flat racing when I got chucked of (the first time in my life) and broke my collar bone. That was Not nice. To be honest I didn't use proper judgement that day on riding that particular horse. I arrived at the races ready to go and didn't have a clue which horse I was going to ride, I just wanted a ride that day. I was warned by my Mum that I should ride the horse for at least a week before I just got up onto a strange horse to race it the same day. She was right! I have not raced since that day and I have no desire to, but I am passionate about endurance riding.
The horses name is Atariq and he is a Pure Arabian stallion, with a fantastic pedigree. He was bred in the USA and is by the well known racing stallion Viking. He definitely has blue blood and a sweet temeperament to match. I will take a photo of him soon so you can all see what a great looking 'guy' he is.
